AS THE YEAR WINDS DOWN

As the year winds down it puts before you an very odd moment, a moment some don't mind, a moment some dread. For me it brings forth mixed feelings... Its the moment of REFLECTION, when u sit back and reflect on the past years the ups and downs the smiles, the anger, and you start to plan for the new year ahead taking it month to month. This year for me has been filled with a lot of ups and downs scares, and heart ache, smiles and anger, disgust, feeling smothered and feeling alone.(that's a lot for one person to deal with but over the course of 365 days its boils down to just being life)

But one thing that has stood out to me the most this year, is how quickly people will smile in your face and talk behind your back.. the beautiful group of people we like to call haters.. And yes i know the saying "To have haters you must be doing something right" and i agree with it 100%. But what got me this year is where the hate came from... all i can say is SMH.. But i Hate is just UNIVERSAL doesn't matter apparently.. SMH (moving on)

Success.. This year successfully the Global Network did carnival, Promoted some events and us as an entertainment company has grown. To the point where we are all at various locations on any given Night providing our patrons with a choice of venue genre and atmosphere here in the DC nightlife arena. We have our hands in a couple of moves which should be coming to fruition this year 2011.

The downs: Financial scares. Financial woes.(this is all personally) and Heartache this year i lost the woman i assumed was going to be the one to be there for the rest of my life..(clearly u know what i mean)I was devastated at first but now i find myself humming "Kay Sa Ra Sa Ra"- What ever will be will be, The futures not ours to see"
I do not know what the future holds and where my life is going, I have plans , I have goals I act on them and Sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't. I just know I'm going to continue what i started in 2010 I'm walking forward with the determination of a rhino, I'm putting my head down and I'm charging for my goals. if i miss on the first charge ill circle back around.. Success is on the Horizon i can feel the warmth of its rays.... I type all this to Say

DC CARNIVAL 2010 IT CAME AND WENT

AHHHHH MAN.. DC CARNIVAL

ALWAYS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, AS THE DAY BEGAN WITH YOURS TRULY NOT GETTING A SINGLE OUNCE OF SLEEP I REACH THE CORNER OF MISSOURI AND GEORGIA AVE TO PREPARE TO EMBARK ON THE JOURNEY WE LOVE TO CALL CARNIVAL, THE STREET WAS FULL OF PEOPLE AND VARIOUS BAND DJS AND MASQUERADER ARE ALL COMPETING TO SHOW WHO'S BEST. BUT UNDER IT ALL THERES A HUGE FEELING OF UNITY IN THE AIR, AS WE THE PEOPLE OF THE ISLAND THE CHILDREN OF SLAVES JUST LIKE OUR AFRO AMERICAN COUNTERPARTS ALL COME TOGETHER IN A CELEBRATION OF OUR CULTURAL DIFFERENCES, BUT OUR ONE UNIFYING LOVE FOR THE SAME HERITAGE.

TO BE ON TOP OF A TRUCK AND LOOK DOWN THE ROAD AND SEE NOT JUST ISLAND PEOPLE, BUT AMERICANS OUT THERE ENJOYING THE CULTURE OF THERE BROTHERS AND SISTER, WAS A FEELING LIKE NONE OTHER. TO SEE THAT IN THESE BRIEF HOURS OF MUSIC BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, WATER, RUM, AND EXCITEMENT.. THERE WERE NO CONFLICTS NO ARGUMENTS, NO DRAMA, LAST YEAR THEY HAD THESE STUPID BARRICADES UP THE WHOLE LENGTH OF GEORGIA AVE THIS YEAR IT WAS FREE AND OPEN LIKE I REMEMBER IT TO BE ON MY FIRST EXPERIENCE.. ALL IN ALL DC CARNIVAL WAS GREAT THIS YEAR, AND IM PATIENTLY WAITING FOR NEXT YEAR....UNTIL THEN TORONTO HERE I COME...

MAN THIS PAST WEEKEND

I MUST SAY! That the events of this past weekend felt right. Kinda of a reconnection with old friends just going out and having fun..
I mean honestly who would have thought that Friends so tight could drift so far apart.
But besides that im glad that we all came together to celebrate another year of life instead of a funeral YA DIGG... My cousin Michael "young bogle" Drakes turned the big 23 this past weekend and to be real im proud of that dude... keep your head up stay positive and focus..

Frustration

With Everything around me playing out in ways where i have no control over them, it sucks that when you turn to the person u feel as though u can talk to, you realize you cant talk to them. You realize that despite how bad things get that you cant count on them to lift your spirits even if its for a few mins on the phone..... sometimes i really sit back and wonder where to go from here? What to do? How can I keep peace... But then i realize that im wondering how to keep peace in a situation where it shouldn't even be an argument! Man with this little bit written ill just say Frustration!
